Happy Birthday, Mr Mozart!

La Finta Giardiniera

Sandrina, who is actually the Marchioness Violante disguised as a rather elegant gardener, is played by Jennifer Muhawi. In this scene, she has been kidnapped and left alone in the forest

La Finta Giardiniera

The poisonous Serpetta, a cunning maidservant, is plotting in the dark against Sandrina. Although Maki Hsieh-Leonard plays the role well, it took extra effort on her part to overcome her natural friendliness.

Cosė Fan Tutte

Another maid of a different ilk, Despina, portrayed by Rena Wilson, impersonates the famous Dr. Mesmer, inventor of magnetic treatments. Despina is indicating that she has the powers of the magnet in her pocket.

Cosė Fan Tutte

Ferrando (Andrew Cox) is disguised as an exotic Albanian and is trying to win the trust of Fiordiligi (Elizabeth Amisano), with the help of "Doctor Mesmer."

The phony Doctor Mesmer doesn't like the looks of the contents of these vessels. The faux Albanians have just swallowed copious quantities of the "poison" to the consternation of frightened sisters Fiordiligi (played here by Jennifer Muhawi) and Dorabella (played here by Leslie Hassberg).

Leslie Hassberg as Dorabella has just about had enough of the verbal onslaughts of Don Alfonso and Guglielmo.

Jennifer Muhawi as Fiordiligi is aghast at the pontifications of the disguised Ferrando, and leans into the deceiving embrace of Despina.

Everyone in Crete is still alive at the end of Act 2, except for a few villagers who fell into the grasping claws of the sea monster.
